J D Hickman Ltd is an industry leading company specialising in innovative transport and storage solutions.
The company evolved in November 1988 when John Hickman identified the need for a transport and storage operator capable of providing a complete turnkey solution to the dairy industry.
We now supply a comprehensive transport mechanism to Fonterra sites with extensive truck movements from Palmerston North and Hawera to the Waikato and Auckland region. A diverse range of equipment and expertise is available to other sectors of New Zealand industry and we are acknowledged specialists in the heavy haul market - with particular focus on supporting our relationships with large oil exploration entities.
Today J D Hickman Limited is still owned and operated by its principal owner John Hickman and the company currently has 100 employees throughout major depots in Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Hawera, Wanganui and New Plymouth.
The leadership team have a practical hands on management style that ensures a flexible and constant approach to operational improvement. Using proactive monitoring combined with the rapid recovery techniques enables us to offer on time deliveries and flexibility when working to strict deadlines.
Our philosophy is to foster and maintain long term partnerships with our customers through a complete understanding of their business objectives - this allows us to develop solutions to satisfy their needs.
